
Elisabeth "Sisi" von Wittelsbach, Empress consort of Austria and
Queen of Hungary. The Vienna Imperial Palace (Hofburg) was
the residence of the Habsburg dynasty for over 600 years. Visit
the ceremonial rooms and residential apartments, used by the
Emperor Franz Joseph and his beloved wife Sisi, to gain an insight
in life at the Imperial Court. Numerous exhibits on display at the
Sisi Museum will guide you through the many aspects of Sisi's
fascinating personality. You can also access the Chamber of Court
Silver, with its outstanding collection of imperial household goods
and tableware.
Following your viewing of the
Museum, make your way to the
Café Restaurant Residenz,
located next to the palace's
main entrance, where a three
course dinner will be served.
After dinner, make your way
to Schönbrunn Palace for an
evening of classical music
performed by the renowned
Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra.
The music of W. A. Mozart and
Johann Strauss, accompanied
by singers and dancers, will delight
your eyes and ears alike.
Note 1: Concert venues change periodically and may be in the
Great Gallery or the White Gold Room at the Schönbrunn Palace,
or other concert halls in Vienna.
Note 2: Imperial Apartments and Sisi Museum are open 9am
to 5pm daily. We recommend you commence your visit by 3pm.
