Itinerary:
Day 1 Vienna
Transfer by the Airport shuttle service from Vienna Airport to your
city hotel. This city of music is full of contrasts! After check-in take
time to stroll through the historic heart of the city and soak up the
atmosphere of bygone years. Palaces and churches, museums and
monuments all bear evidence to the splendour of Austria's imperial
past. But just as impressive are the magnificent Art Nouveau
architecture and the modern buildings of a new Vienna at the centre
of an ever-expanding Europe. Bustling markets and high-quality
shops, cafés and wine taverns, theatre, music and a pulsating
nightlife all combine to make Vienna a city which can be rediscovered
again and again. Overnight in Vienna.
Day 2 Vienna
After breakfast depart on a guided morning sightseeing tour of the
city. See the famous Ringstrasse and other interesting sights of the
city. Your tour includes a visit to the famous Schönbrunn Palace, the
former imperial summer residence. In the afternoon you have free
time to explore Vienna on your own and enjoy coffee and cake at the
famous Cafe Sacher. Overnight in Vienna.
Day 3 Vienna - Salzburg
This morning transfer by own arrangements to Vienna rail station and
depart for Salzburg. This pleasant journey will take approx. 4 hours
and will take you through some beautiful scenery, before arriving in
Salzburg. Overnight in Salzburg.
Day 4 Salzburg
This morning enjoy a "Sound of Music" sightseeing tour (4 hours).
Tour highlights include some of the original locations used in the
film: the palace of Leopoldskron, where the family sat on the terrace,
the pavillion, the convent of Nonnberg, the beautiful Lake Wolfgang
and the wedding church in Mondsee.
Explore Salzburg. The city is relatively small, with all of the main
sights within easy walking distance of each other. On one side of
the River Salzach you will find the Fortress Hohensalzburg, which
dominates the city and can be reached either on foot or by funicular
railway. The historic heart of the city nestles at the foot of the
fortress, including the cathedral, the picturesque Getriedegasse
with Mozart's birthplace, the Festival Halls, St Peter's Cemetery,
the Residenz and many other impressive palaces and courtyards.
Overnight in Salzburg.
Day 5 Salzburg - Innsbruck
After breakfast, transfer by own arrangements to Salzburg railway
station for today's journey to the provincial capital of Tyrol, Innsbruck.
The journey, which lasts approx. 2 hours, takes you through some
spectacular mountain scenery.
Nestling snugly in the Inn Valley, Innsbruck is surrounded on all sides
by majestic mountains. Twice home to the Winter Olympic Games,
the fascinating city combines ancient Tyrolean tradition with all the
vitality of a modern city. Overnight in Innsbruck.
Day 6 Innsbruck
One of the most famous Austrian exports is the world-famous crystal
glass manufactured by Swarovski. This morning take the bus from
the centre of the city directly to the nearby town of Wattens and
the Swarovski factory. (The journey takes approx. 30 minutes). Visit
Swarovski's "Crystal World", both a museum and showroom in one,
with dazzling crystal collections and an insight into the unique glassmaking
process. Return to Innsbruck by public bus service.
Overnight in Innsbruck.
Day 7 Innsbruck - Vienna
Board the train at Innsbruck Railway station for the return journey to
Vienna (approx. 5 hours). Arrive Vienna in the afternoon.
Overnight in Vienna.

departure flight or alternatively extend your stay in Austria.
